Lost Tricks

The Lost Tricks are a vehicle for Oregon-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Trev Oswalt, whose piano-driven pop tunes nod to the Fray and Ben Folds. Oswalt is an actor in addition to being a musician; he has appeared in the Will Smith movie Hitch and on television shows like Law and Order and Third Watch. Oswalt started making solo recordings as the Lost Tricks in 2002. He self-released the first Lost Tricks album, Below the Bed, that year, and he put out another full-length album, Eye of the Storm, two years later. Oswalt brought bassist John Galgano and drummer Anthony Johnson into the fold for the Lost Tricks' self-titled EP, which the band self-released in 2005. The Lost Tricks' fourth release, a six-track EP called Keep It Together, was made available on the band's website in 2009; the Lost Tricks' lineup consisted of Oswalt, bassist Amit Shtriker, and drummer Scott Morehouse at that point. - Margaret Reges
