STOP READING. Well you can keep reading, but you'll soon realize that this site really needs an update. I'll do it soon. If you're still reading, i will say that a new record is just about done. In the meantime, because i'm a slave to social networking, become a fan on Facebook, or go back to that damn myspace page.

UPCOMING SHOW: we'll be playing with Chris Collingwood of Fountains of Wayne at Joe's Pub, 4/29/08.

Really old crap begins here. I would comment it out but when i try it screws up the table, and then the shit looks especially bad. So again, stop reading. Love, Bad Josephine.

Listen to a demo of "Anything for Amelia," the story of a mean old hag who holds her money over her daughter's head, told by the mean old hag.

Special Show at The Living Room
Friday, January 13

Scott Klass and Thomas Ward will be joined by special guest Davenports Dan Miller (They Might Be Giants), playing a variety of instruments both natural and otherwise, and the extraordinary string duo of violinist Claudia Chopek (Ryan Adams, Nancy Sinatra, Donna Summer) and cellist Eleanor Norton (Arlo Guthrie), both on a short hiatus from the touring company of “Little Women.”

The set will take selections from the band’s “Speaking of The Davenports” and “Hi-tech Lowlife,” as well as several new works-in-progress, and slather them with a shameless amount of melancholy.

Davenports TV Theme Music
"Five Steps," from the band's debut Speaking of The
Davenports
, will again be used as the theme song for A&E's "Intervention" as the series moves into its second season. Click here for more info on the show, and click on the MUSIC link above to hear the song in its entirety and get the record.

New Record Out June 8
Although currently available on this site and at Not
Lame
, The Davenports' sophomore
release Hi-Tech Lowlife will come out "officially" on
June 8. First notices have been stellar, with most
reviewers picking up on the fact that this is a rich
record that demands multiple spins to really get to
all that's going on, both musically and lyrically:
"once planted, the song's roots grow in deep. Yes, I
am hooked" (Mike Bennett, Fufkin). Read reviews
